Marcel Theroux is plotting his trip to Denver based on suggestions from his Twitter followers.

Marcel Theroux, a novelist who lives in Britain, is steering his way from Las Vegas to Denver based on where his Twitter followers are telling him to go, The Guardian newspaper reports.

Theroux and his traveling companions crossed into Colorado Wednesday before stopping for the night in Cortez. Theroux comes by his wanderlust naturally; his father is the American travel writer Paul Theroux.

The younger Theroux, who tweets as @Therouvian, is even asking his followers to suggest where to eat and what music to listen to as he makes his way toward Denver. He's sharing the driving with his friend, musician Andy Maclure.

As he wrote earlier this month in announcing his plans: "Help free us from the blandness of the interstate and peer into the nooks and corners of the country."
